Far from Euthymia

My book, Far from Euthymia is a graphic novel / illustrated poem about bipolar disorder and hospitalization. It is a story told through metaphors, greek mythology and the visual language of fairy tales and horror. The book was made in 8 weeks for my final degree project at Konstfack University of Arts and Crafts in Sweden.

I created my own tools and brushes to use with liquid ink. For some illustrations I really wanted to give up control and then use the results.

In order to find the right feeling and shapes for the character Achlys I painted quickly with hand made tools and liquid inks to achieve an uncontrolled and chaotic result.
